Most wellness centers focus on wellness within the context of only mental health & physical health, offering care for mind & body. While we do this also, here at Thrive we go beyond and actively refer, collaborate and share resources in our community we all need throughout the life course. Shalyn’s approach is both compassionate and skills-based. In her work regarding women’s mental health, Shalyn helps clients identify red flags in relationships, as well as end the ones that no longer serve them. An advocate for individual personal empowerment, she helps clients to break undesirable cycles, set relationship boundaries, and attain independence.
Additionally, Shalyn helps clients who have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). She uses Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) treatment, widely considered the most effective and evidence-supported treatment for the treatment of OCD with or without medication. She is also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and utilizes this treatment approach in combination with others to meet every individual clients needs.
Shalyn strongly believes that with acceptance, comes change – and she looks forward to helping each client enact positive change in their lives. Her goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for healing and recovery to take place in.
